1. We had to draw out the next two patterns.
2. We had to make a table to show the results of our investigation.
3. We had to describe the patterns found in each row.
Trapezoids :
- adding 2
- starting at 2
- even #'s only
Figure number :
- adding 1
- starting at 1
3b. We had to describe why the patterns increased in the way they do.
x :
- adding new figures
y :
- start with 2 trapezoids
- then add 2 more trapezoids
4. We had to describe the relationship between the two columns.
x to y add 1, add 2, add 3, add 4......
---->
4c. We have to write an algebraic equation and the "language arts" edition to show the relationship.
LA version : two times (the figure)
algebraic equation : 2n
letn = fig. #
n+ n
5. We had to predict what the 20th, 35th, and 99th diagram will look like.
n = figure number
20th- 2n
2 (20)
40
35th - 2n
2 (35)
70
99th - 2n
2 (99)
198
6. We had to predict which diagram will use 30, 50 and 125 blocks.
30 blocks - 2n = 30
2 (15) = 30
30 = 30 <----------- always put this!! It's for verification!!
50 blocks - 2n = 50
2 (25) = 50
50 = 50
125 blocks - 2n = 126
2 (63) = 126
126 = 126
7. We had to make a graph for the first 6 terms and label the line according by it's equation.
Find any problems!? Comment for me okkays???

Today we learn about more about algebra we started to finish the Toothpick math thing that we did yesterday we had to draw two more patterns from the drawing below
We had to find what is the next two pattern were
We had to a make a chart for the pattern and find the relationship was
We also had to do a t-chart for this relation ships between the figure and Toothpicks
Decibe the patterns found in each row ?
The Pattern in the first row goes by ones and they are consecutive numbers while the second row goes by twos and they are odd numbers.
Describe why the pattern increase the way they do ?
For X you are adding new figures each time. For Y you are starting with three toothpicks thats why the number is always odd.
Descibe the relationship between the two columns?
the relationship between the two columns is add two then three, then four and so on
Write a algebraic equation to show this relationship?
two time the 4 figure plus 1 = 2n+1
5. Predict what the 20th, 35th, and 99th figure would be?
n=figure number
20th - 2 (20)+1 = 40+1 = 41
35th - 2 (35) +1 = 70+1 = 71
99th - 1(99) +1= 198 +1 = 199
6. Predict which diagram will use 30, 50 and 125 blocks.
30 blocks- 20th 2n+ 1 = 31 , 2(15) + 1 = 31
50 blocks- 35th 2n +1 = 51, 2(51) + 1 = 103
125 blocks - 99th 2n + 1 = 261

Leslie's B.O.B and Unproject Reflection
Did you like the unproject.
- I liked the unproject because i learned new programs to use on other wiki's and blogger.
Did the unproject make you work harder than you usually would?
- The unproject took a little bit more effort then i ussually do because i had to do it twice because the first time wasn't going to work.
What did you like best about the unproject?
- The best thing about the unproject was makigng the quiz on wiki.
What would you change about the next unproject?
- Something i would change about the next unproject would be more prepared and ready for insteed of doing it the night before it's due!
D
id the unproject make you learn more because you were doing a different type of project.- I kind of learned more, i got more use to wiki and i learned how to inbed video and music. Mr. H. showed me this website that u could upload music on and add it to your pages, it's called imeem and it's totally awsome.

learning fractions was pretty easy at times but a few times i didnt really remember what to do if i had to divide , subtract add or multiply =\ but actually i got the hang of it . after learning how to divide thats when i remembered how to do everything else . i think that this unit was the easiest one for me and i learned alot.
UNPROJECT
did you like the unproject?at times i didnt because i really got confused when i was figuring out what me and marygrace did for the game.
did the unproject work make yuo work harder than you usually do? for me i actually thought that it didnt because when i do big projects like this . i do it at the last minute and yeah (yy)
what did you like the best about the unproject? i think that the best part of doing this project was contributing with my partner and thinking of what we could do to finish our game
what would you change about your next unproject? i think that i could pick a more challenging topic and make it really creative like maybe a movie ??
did the unproject make you learn more because you were doing a different type of project? well for me it really didnt but i did learn how to use wikispace and bubbleshare. but it also make me thing harder and it was more challenging then all my other projects.
Marygrace's B.O.B.
I understand how to add, subtract, and multiply fractions. Sometimes dividing fractions makes me confused. Some of the word problems in the purple booklet were confusing to me, because I had trouble figuring out if i had to multiply or divide. The adding and subtracting word problems were easy. I learned how to cross reduce and that made my work easier to do. =)
UNproject: =)
1. Did you like the unproject? =)
Yes, I liked the unproject because making the gameboard was fun. We also had alot of options to choose from. There were so many options that me and Tina couldn't really decide what to do for our unproject. There weren't alot of specific rules, and that made it easier to do the project. =)
2. Did the unproject make you work harder than you usually would? =)
No, the unproject did not make me work harder because all i had to do was cut out peices for the gameboard, and make an instructions booklet. Making our unproject was so easy that it only took a day and a half to finish. =)
3. What did you like best about the unproject? =)
What I liked best about the unproject was when we played our boardgame with some friends and video taped it. =)
4. What would you change about the next unproject? =)
I wouldn't change anything about the unproject, i would just do something else other than a gameboard/video. I'm not sure what i would choose though. =)
5. Did the unproject make you learn more because you were doing a different type of project? =)
The unproject did not make me learn more because i was dong something that I already knew well about. But I found out that I could add and subtract fractions in my head. It just takes a while. =)

In fraction i understand how to do fraction like adding fraction, subtracting fraction, multiplying fractions, and dividing fraction. I thought that adding fraction is the easiest of all them cause i can do a question with in 30 seconds
1. Did you like the unproject?
it was all right but it really got on my nerves cause the pictures all ways mess up
2. Did the unproject make you work harder than you usually would?
yes i thought it made me work harder cause my partner at first did nothing until the final minute
3. What did you like best about the unproject
i like the most was finshing it cause it took forver to finsh
4. What would you change about the next unproject?
i would like to go by my self so i can challange my self more and do somthing more harder
5. Did the unproject make you learn more because you were doing a different type of project?
yes it did made me learn more cause i understood what i was doing insted of being clue on what i did before so i did learn alot from this project

I think I get how to do all those equations with fractions. The only thing that I have trouble on sometimes is choosing the right equation in word problems. I'm okay with everything else.
UNASSIGNMENT--
Below are the questions we had to answer about our unassignment.
1. Did you like the unproject?
- Working on the unproject was actually sort of fun. I guess it's because I worked with someone I wanted to.
2. Did the unproject make you work harder than you usually would?
- It didn't. Me and Marielle had tons of bloopers mostly because of laughing, so I guess I worked at the same level I usually do XP
3. What did you like best about the unproject?
- Trying to find which songs to use and listening to our mistakes =).
4. What would you change about the next unproject?
- The only thing I'd change was the kind of project we would do. I don't think I'd really change much.
5. Did the unproject make you learn more because you were doing a different type of project?
- Not really, but it's because I knew about the topic a lot because it was simple.

-actually, I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. It was actually a lot of fun, because not only did we reinforce what we knew about fractions, we also got a bit of practice with different kinds of technology.
2. Did the unproject make you work harder than you usually would?
-in a way, I think it actually did, because it was a big assignment, not to mention something we were enjoying.
3. What did you like best about the unproject?
-being able to complete a project with things you wouldn't normally be able to use.
4. What would you change about the next unproject?
-I don't think I'd change much, this one went really smoothly. We might try to explain ourselves more clearly on the next project.
5. Did the unproject make you learn more because you were doing a different type of project?
-I'm not quite sure, but I think it might have, because I think we enjoyed the project more than worksheets... No offense, Harbeck.
Tear's Fraction BOB and Reflection
Adding and Subtracting fractions went well on me but I wasn't quite 100% successful on it because I sometimes use the common denominators instead of the LOWEST common denominator. When I don't double check my work, I tend to make silly mistakes. In class, I pay attention and I'm always on task. Most importantly,if I don't know how to do something, I ask Mr. H. for explanation. The hardest thing in our fraction unit for me is Dividing fractions because I sometimes mistakenly multiply instead of divide or vice versa. I mostly get confuse when it is in a word problem.
UNproject
1. Did you like the unproject?
- Yes because it was pretty easy because we get to choose our own topic and our own project. It helped me be more creative with it and having to choose your own partner helped too because there's someone else that could help me with it.
2. Did the unproject make you work harder than you usually would?
- Yes, a little. It is a UNproject and so it is worth a lot of marks so me and my partner had to show that we spend a lot of time on it and that it had to be cool. We started a lonf time ago so yeah, I worked longer than I usually do.
3. What did you like best about the unproject?
- I like putting the images on my quiz on the wiki the best because when we first made our quiz on quizstar it is kind of hard to put pictures and we can't put why the answer is correct and other pictures. Working on our UNproject was awesome.
4. What would you change about the next unproject?
- I wanted to do a powerpoint game and only if I knew before how to be able to embed then I would have been able to do a powerpoint game. I was planning to do a "WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE?' game.
5. Did the unproject make you learn more because you were doing a different type of project.
- Yes because to actually make a quiz, we have to make up simple but unique ones. Then we had to think how we solve it and lastly how we show that our answer is correct. I learned more actually than doing a scribepost! I also learned how to trick other people by adding challenging questions.

Adding and multiplying were pretty easy especially when i learned how to cross reduce with fractions. For me i didn't like subtracting and dividing it was because just sometimes complicated for me. But even thought i liked some types of fractions and i didn't like other types they I was still able to do them.
Unproject:
1.Did you like the Unproject.
Yes I did like the Unproject because it gave us some thinking of what should we could do and it sort of gave us some goals to achieve.
2.Did the Unproject work make you work harder than you usually do?
Well i guess it made us work harder because we had a project to finish and we did had to come up with something for a mark right and it also gave us some creativity with the project.
3.What did you like best about the Unproject?
What i like best about the Unproject was me and a partner had to work together and have fun with are project and it also gave us time to think.
4.What would you change about your next Un project
What I would change would be picking a diffrent or more challenging topic and do something creative with it and also out more or better background info.
5.Did the Unproject make you learn more because you were doing a different type of project?
It didn't really make me learn more it just made me think harder and be more creative but it also sort of made me learn more about wikispaces

To add fractions you first have to find the lowest common denomenater. But if they already have common denomenaters you do not have to do this step. Then you add the numerators up. Then you add up the denomenaters. If the numerater is larger than the denomenater then you have to turn it into a mixed fraction. Make sure you reduce the answer if you can. See examples on how to add fractions.
Ex.1) 3/4 + 3/86/8 + 3/8= 9/8= 1 and 1/8
Ex.2) 3/4 + 1/4= 4/4= 1 whole
Adding Mixed Fractions
To add fractions you first have to find the lowest common denomenater. But if they already have common denomenaters you do not have to do this step. Then you add the numerators up. Then you add up the denomenaters. If the numerater is larger than the denomenater then you have to turn it into a mixed fraction. The last thing you have is you have to add up the whole number. Make sure you reduce the answer if you can. See examples on how to add mixed fractions.
Ex.1) 3 and 1/4 + 4 and 2/4= 7 and 3/4
Ex.2) 2 and 3/4 + 6 1/8= 8 and 7/83/4 would become 6/8 and 1/8 stays 1/8
Subtracting Fractions
To subtract fractions you fist have to find the lowest common denomenater. But if they already have common denomenater yoou do not have to do this step. Then you subtract the numerators. Then you subtract the denomenaters. If the munerater is larger than the denomenater you have to turn the it into a mixed fraction. Make sure you reduce the answer if you can. See examples on how to subtract fractions.
Ex.1) 3/4 - 2/4 = 1/4Ex.2) 3/4 - 1/8=6/8 - 1/8= 5/8
Subtracting Mixed fractions
To subtract fractions you fist have to find the lowest common denomenater. But if they already have common denomenater yoou do not have to do this step. Then you subtract the numerators. Then you subtract the denomenaters. If the munerater is larger than the denomenater you have to turn the it into a mixed fraction.Last you have to subtract the whole numbers. Make sure you reduce the answer if you can. See examples on how to subtract fractions.
Ex.1) 3 and 3/4 - 2 and 2/4 = 1 and 1/4
Ex.2) 4 and 2/4 - 2 and 1/4 = 2 and 1/4
Multiplying Fractions
To muitiply fractions you first have to mulitiply the 2 numeraters toughter. Than you muitiplt the 2 denomenaters toughter. When you multiply you do not find the lowest common denomenater. if you can reduce the fraction then reduce it. in the following example you will see how to multiply fractions.
Ex.1) 2/3 x 3/5= 2x3=6 3x5=15= 6/15= 2/5
Find the common denomenater
To find the common denomenater you have to follow the following steps. First you find the lowest number that both of the denomenaters can both fit into. Then say you have 3 as your denomenater and you want to change it into 6 you have to times it by 2 so if the numerater is 2 you have to times it by 2. so the fraction will now be 4/6. if it is reducable you have to reduce it. So 4/6 will become 2/3. See examples for an idea on how to do it.
Ex.1) 2/3 and 1/2 so it will change to 4/6 and 3/6the lowest common denomenater will be 6.
Ex.2) 1/3 and 1/4 so it will change to 4/12 and 3/12the lowest common denomenater will be 12.
Reducing your answer
To reduce your answer you have to make sure both you numerater and you denomenater divide by the same number. So the first step is you have to find a number that divides between both numbers. Then you reduce them. See example on how to do this.
Ex.1) 2/4 = both of them are dividable by 2 so the answer is 1/2
Ex.2) 6/8 = both of them are dividable by 2 so the answer is 3/4

Ardia's Fraction B.O.B
I think this unit was pretty straight forward . i learned most of these things in the sixth grade, and this unit just refreshed my memory . The easiest thing for me was adding and subtracting, it was easy because its just like regular addition and subtraction but just with a bit more work. Then theres multiplication and division. multiplication was easy for me, once we learned the strategies to make it more simple. then division was just like multiplication with a couple more steps . the only thing that was difficult for me was some of the "word problems" not all of them . just some . the only reason it was hard was because i had to find out if it was adding, subtraction, multiplication, or division.
UnProject:
1. Did you like the unproject.
Yeah . i did like the unproject. calling it an UNproject kinda put less pressure then a PROJECT. ha
2. Did the unproject make you work harder than you usually would?
No, i worked as hard on it as i usually would with others .
3. What did you like best about the unproject?
The best part about doing this project was the food =P . we got to do anything . so me and monique made a cooking show =). I also like the filming .
4. What would you change about the next unproject?
In the next unproject, i think i should put more math work into it . so now im going to think "more math . less food."=P
5. Did the unproject make you learn more because you were doing a different type of project.
Yes. this made me learn more, because it felt like we weren't really doing work . Just fun, but we're still learning at the same time .
Michael's Fraction B. O. B. [V 1.0]
I think that this fraction unit was pretty simple (bring it on, algebra and geometry!), once I learned how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide fractions. Multiplying was easiest, especially when I learned cross-reduction. For me, adding and subtracting, wasn't something that was "hard", just something I didn't like doing. I don't like finding common denominators, though I'm comfortable with them.
UnProject:,
1. Did you like the unproject.
Yes I like doing the unproject, because since we had a chance to do whatever we wanted, it gave me some room for some creativity.
2. Did the unproject make you work harder than you usually would?
I think that it did make me work harder, because since we had a chance to do anything we want, it would be easier. It made me work a bit harder than on the growing post and scribe posts.
3. What did you like best about the unproject?
What I liked best was actually writing the story and putting the images together for my unproject. I found it fun to utilize a computer game in a math project. It's nice that we could do whatever we wanted.
4. What would you change about the next unproject?
I'd probably take some more time on the background info, but other than that, I'd do everything else pretty similar.
5. Did the unproject make you learn more because you were doing a different type of project.
I don't think it made me learn more than if I did, say, a growing post, since it would have the same information. (Though I learned much more about using Sims 2 for making movies xp©)

Kim V.'s B.O.B.
In this fraction unit, it refreshed my mind of how to add, subtract, multiply and divide fractions with same denominators, different denominators, common denominators and lowest common denominators. We learned so much in so little time. My favourite thing in this fraction unit is dividing and multiplying fractions. It's my favourite because to me, multiplying and dividing fractions are really easy to do. Another thing that I like was doing the purple booklet that was given to us in the beginning of the unit, it was fun to solve the fraction problems and solving the riddles, but some of the word problems were a little bit hard for me because I didn't know what to do at first, like to add, subtract, divide or multiply. But I think I got the idea now.
1. Did you like the un-project?
Yes, I really like doing our un-project because we didn't have specific rules and instructions to make or do our project. So we were free to do anything that we wanted, like a movie, a song, a game and more! I think that this un-project was fun because my partner and I got to choose what kinds of projects that we wanted to do that was comfortable to us.
2. Did the un-project make you work harder than you usually would do?
This un-project did kind of made me work harder because sometimes I was trying to get our project to look like something that would satisfy me and I had to do a great amount of tries to get the right ones but overall, it was fun to do and I didn't think it was hard.
3. What did you like best about the un-project?
The best part about the un-project that I liked was that we got to choose and do any kind of project that we wanted and that we could do anything for our project so that I didn't really have to worry that I am going to lose some marks because I didn't follow the instructions. Also, another thing I liked was that I got to show my creativity in our projects.
4. What would you like to change about the next un-project?
I don't think that I would like to change anything about the next un-project because I got to do what kind of project I wanted and that I was comfortable with it.
5. Did the un-project make you learn more because you were doing a different type of project?
Yes, the un-project did make me learn more because I learned how to use something called "spresent" and that I learned how to use it's gadgets and make a whole new thing that I new I couldn't even make.
If I have missed something or made a mistake, please comment me and tell me.. thanks!

The Unproject Reflection .....
Yes, I like the unproject because you got to do whatever you wanted to do for 10% which made it awesome because you did have to do a certain thing, you could just do what you were the most comfortable with.
2) Did the unproject make you work harder than you usually would ?
Yes, it made me work harder because we had to do something other than some paper work. The good thing about it is there wasn't any writing to do, it could be whatever you wanted pretty much.
3) What did you like best about the unproject?
What I like best about the unproject was how Jeff and I got to act things and make our own movie about fractions. We had some pretty funny times haha.
4) What would you change about the next unproject?
I wouldn't change anything about the next unproject because it was so fun and you got to do whatever you wanted. It was awesome.
5) Did the unproject make you learn more because you were doing a different type of project ?
It kind of made me learn more because of how some people explained how to do certain things which made it much easier for me to learn about and I caught onto things a lot quicker.
Jeff's [b.o.b]
I did like doing the unproject because it was fun doing it and i got to show my "CREATIVE" side.
2. Did the unproject make you work harder than you usually would?
Hmm.. the unproject did not make me work harder than i would in a project because we had the chance to choose what we want to do with our project.. not the traditional powerpoint, photostory, etc.
3. What did you like best about the unproject?
The thing that i would of thought was the best of doing the unproject was that we got to choose the partner I wanted and the way I was to show our topic.
4. What would you change about the next unproject?
i thing i would change about my unproject was to film a scene at school, outside, or even at the mall. I would like to make it like that "street magic" thing you see one tv and go up to complete strangers and ask then to tell the kids at our school something about fractions.
5. Did the unproject make you learn more because you were doing a different type of project.
This unproject did teach me way more about fractions than if i were to do a report about fractions.

1. Did you like the unproject. Yes, i did cuz it was fun and i kinda learned while creating the boardgame me and teagan were making.
2.Did the unproject make you work harder than you usually would? Yes, cuz we mad a boardgame at first, but we didn't know that the game was supposed to be online. So Harbeck came up with an idea to make a video of us playing the boardgame. We haven't really gotten to that part yet.
3.What did you like best about the unproject? I liked the part when Harbeck told us that we weren't supposed to make an actual boardgame but that we were supposed to do it online.
4.What would you change about the next unproject? I would ask if we are supposed to do it online of make an actual thingy-ma-bob.
5.Did the unproject make you learn more because you were doing a different type of project. Yes it did. It taught me to ask for instructions before hand, and how to do fractions.
