My answer:
A Percent is a number out of 100. EXAMPLE=20% is 20/100
1.How are three fith's (3/5), 3:2, 60% and 0.6all the same ?n Use a picture and words to show your answer.
My answer:
1/5=20% 1/5x3=60% 10=60 3:2 =part/part+whole= fraction 1/5=20% 1/5x3=60%
3.Show 3 different ways to find 35%of 80.
My answer:
first we have to find what what 1% =80divided by 100 =8 so 1 = 8. (1%)x 35 =28 so 35% of 80 is 28.
4. Find a Link that deals with percentages. Leave a comment behind and add the link with a review.
My Answer:
5 .The principal announced that 50% of the children in Ms. Stanzi's class met their reading goal for the month and that 55% of the children in Ms Lowrey's class met their reading goal for the month. Ms. Stanzi said that a greater number of her students met their reading goal. Could Ms Stanzi be correct? Why or Why not.
My Answer:
Ms.Stanzi is corret because there can be more children in M. Lowerys Class.
My work:
20/40=50% 11/20=55%
6.Use a hundred grid (unit square) to illustrate the following questions. Once you have explained and illustrated what the question means solve it.
a) 16 is 40% of what number?
b) What is 120% of 30?
My Answer:
A. 40%of 100 is 40
40/100=0.4
16x0.4=40
40/100=16/40
I got this answer by dividing 40 by 100 that gives me 0.4, and then you multiply the decimal by the part that gives you 40% of 16.
B. 120% of 100 is 120120/100=1.230 x 1.2=36120/100 = 36/30
I got this answer by finding out what 120%of 100 is and it is 100, and then I divided 120by 100which gives me 1.2.Then you multiply by the whole which is 30 by 1.2 and that gives you 30 out of 36
