Measure Of Central Tendency - Question 5

5. Find the measures of central tendency for the following data sets:

Note: "/" means to divide

A) 18, 20,26, 29, 30, 33, 40

Mean-
18+20+26+29+30+33+40= 196/7= 28
Median- 29
Mode- no mode
Range- 40-18=22

B)
15, 15, 17, 20, 20, 25, 25, 50 , 50

Mean-
15+15+17+20+20+25+25+50+50= 237/9= 23

Median- 20
Mode- 15, 20, 25, 50
Range- 50-15= 35

C)
5, 15, 20, 50, 75, 80

Mean-
5+15+20+50+75+80= 245/6= 41
Median- 20+50= 70/2= 35
Mode- no mode
Range- 80-5=75

D)
16, 16, 17, 40, 40, 40, 44, 64, 64, 80, 100

Mean- 16+16+17+40+40+40+44+64+64+80+100=521/11=47
Median- 40
Mode- 16, 40, 64
Range- 100-16=84
