The principal announced that 50% of the children in Ms. Stanzi's class met their reading goal for the month and that 55% of the children in Ms Lowrey's class met their reading goal for the month. Ms Stanzi said that a greater number of her students met their reading goal. Could Ms Stanzi be correct? Why or Why not.
Ms. Stanzi cannot be correct because her class's percentage is lower than Ms. Lowery's.
She could also be correct because she could have more students than Ms. Lowery's class.
Let's say Ms. Stanzi's class at 10 students. 10 / 2 = 5 5 = 50%
.. and Ms. Lowery's class only has 6 students ..
6 / 2 = 3 0.5 / 6 = .08 3 + .08 = 3.08

a) 80
16 / 40 = 0.4 0.4 x 100 = 40 16 / 40 = 40% / 100
16 / 40 is equivalent to 40 / 100 because when you divide both of them, they both are 0.4.
b) 30
30 / 30 = 1%
120 / 30 = 4
1 square is worth 4.
4 x 120 = 480
30 is equal to 100. To find 120% of 30, you have to divide the percent by 30. 120 divided by 30 equals 4. The 4 is equal to 1%. Then you multiply 4 by 120 to get your answer. (4 x 120 = 480)
